Aarnio : · The Finnish designer Eero Aarnio, born in 1932, studied from 1954 to 1957 at the Institute of Industrial Arts in Helsinki. · He was - and still is - one of the pioneers in using plastic in furniture design. · In 1963 he designed the first Ball Chair and earned international reputation. · A few years later the Pastil Chair and Tomato Chair came out and until today Aarnio loves to work with fibreglass.
